What i mean is that, If i had a 7.2 v, 1700 mAh Battery, and a 7.2 v, 3000 mAh Battery, how would they be different in charging time and in performance. Would the 3000 mAh Battery take longer to charge and also make my Truck go faster or give it more power.

Please Help, Thank You.

The difference in charging time will be determined by the individual batteries discharge. If the 3000 mAh batt is slightly discharged and the 1700 mAh is fully discharged, then the 1700 will take longer and vice versa.
If they were both discharged equally, then the 3000 will take twice as long to charge.

It will actually be determined by the chemical technology in the battery. Ni-Cads, NiMH and Li-Ion all charge differently.

The charger unit will also have an effect on charging.

Some chargers put the power on and charge hard, reserving the last twenty minutes or so to top-off the battery slowly.

The only fact I can give you is that the truck will not go any faster since both batteries provide an emf of 7.2 volts, but the 3000mAh battery will run for longer than the 1700mAh battery...

e.g. if the truck uses 850mA per hour, then the 1700mAh will run for 1700/850 = 2 hours.

The 3000 will run for 3000/850 = ~3.5 hours

If both batteries are at the same state of discharge the 3000 will take longer to charge. It will also last longer on that charge, again , all things being the same, but it will not deliver more power.

It would take longer to charge, if it was discharged the same amount as the smaller battery. It will not make your truck faster or give it more power. It will just last longer on a charge.

technically 3000mah @ 7.2v vs 1700mah @ 7.2v = more POWER. But it probably won't have an effect on performance except that the performance will last longer on one charge.

the function of the charger is to replace the capacity of a battery.

The 3000mAH battery will take about 75% longer to charge. Whether it will supply more current and therefore more torque depends on the motor speed controller.
