don't know your location but you can try www.marymaxim.ca in canada or www.marymaxim.com in usa .michaels crafts probably also have them. basically, it is a metal tool about 3in long and 1/2in wide with a u shaped opening on each end to wrap your yarn or thread around so you can weave with it. i lost mine a few years ago and in a pinch my husband made me one from wood. after he sanded it down, it worked well until i got a replacement. walmart's craft section may also have them. hope you find one. lap weaving is a good pastime.

You can also use a netting needle, sometimes called knitting shuttle.
If you live near an ocean or sea you might be able to find them in a shop, otherwise, make them yourself. (You can make them to size.)
