Some families are disturbing to say the least. I guess it depends on how useless your family members are. I wouldn't stick up for a family member that doesn't want to work or has allowed themselves to be turned into a freeloader.

No. It's BS. I'd disown a brother who tried to kill my wife, for example, or any relative who would take advantage of me or other relatives.
I have an Aunt who doesn't deserve an ounce of my respect. She's a liar, a maniuplator, a thief. If I had to decide between coming to her aid and being on Yahoo! Answers, I'd pick Yahoo! hands down.

I would think in most cases it is, but not for me. I will go according to what is right no matter which side I end up on. Let's face it, my siblings are not perfect and can do wrong.

True to some people but not true to other people!For me, it is true.I have been betrayed by my friends but not by my family.So that saying is true for me until now.I cannot grantee for future.
