Well, I personally pray to God when I am thankful and tell God so. Sometimes when something goes really well, I whisper under my breath, "Thank you God!" And God hears.

Sometimes, thankfulness manifests itself in action. Sometimes just a quiet smile and an acknowledgment in thought.

But the ways to thank God are as diverse and unique as a human his or herself.

Just simply say "thanks" you can't learn how to say thanks...just let it come naturally. Pray to God that he teaches you how to serve him and how to praise him.
