It has been shown that a hormone called melatonin, which is secreted by the pineal gland, located on the dorsal surface of the fore brain, is increased in darkness. It is therefore related to sleep.

Melatonin is the sleeping hormone as it is produced during sleep.

This stimulates immune system, increases antibodies in saliva, has antioxidant properties, and also enhances the quality of sleep.

there is no sleeping hormone per se...... however coz of the effect it has on human diurnal cycle, melatonin is often referred as sleeping hormone....
