Something that is not good is sad.

We feel sad when we realise emptiness within the heart, where realisations of emptiness in forms of incoherence, incongruities, blanks or gaps in knowledge in the mind cause restlessness. Heart is the place very central to human mind. In the moments of self-realisation, when we find a bit of ourselves missing in our heart, a person, or good old times that once we were, we feel sadness.

We also feel sadness after we reach the peaks of materialistic indulges to see that we took a wrong turn and then got carried away. Our body has a limit to everything. We can induce only so much of enjoyment, and also so much of pain, as there is a limit too in how much pain we can endure, and after that limit is passed we either fad out or become insensitive and dull. But our heart, on the other hand needs to see limitlessness in everything. It is at its best when it has eternity in view. It is like some heavenly bird that needs spaces to fly through towards ultimate sources of pure love, immaculate beauty and grace.
