Hey,
Can anyone give me balanced equations for these:
1.)Neutralization of solid nickel (ii) oxide by dilute nitric acid, producing a green aqueous solution
2.) Thermal decomposition of sodium nitrate crystals producing a colourless gas and white residue.
3.) Conversion of ammonia to nitrogen by passing the gas over heated copper(ii) oxide powder.
Thankyou

NiO+2HNO3 ----> Ni(NO3)2+H2O
the green aqueous solution is nickel nitrate(nickel 2+ ions make the solution green)
2NaNO3 ----> 2NaNO2+O2
the colourless gas is oxygen and the white solid is sodium nitrite.
3CuO+2NH3 ----> 3Cu+3H2O+N2
the ammonia acts as a reducing agent and reduces the CuO to Cu,in the process gets oxidised to nitrogen.

NiO + 2HNO3 -----> Ni(NO3)2 + H2O

2NaNO3 ----> 2NaNO2 + O2

2NH3 + 3CuO -----> 3Cu + N2 + 3H2O
