My mother has multiple sclorosis (disabled) and can no longer keep my brother in line. He is really out of control and the only other option is a group home or foster care. Also any financial info. for grants to help pay for tuition would be helpful

My brother and I have different fathers. His father is aware of the situation but is unwilling to help.It seems that all of my closest relatives who are aware of the situation have tried to help and are frustrated and ready to give up. I plan to transfer to a college out of state this spring where I would live on campus; thinking about taking him with me but not sure if he would be allowed to stay in an on campus apartment with me. This would really cost me alot more money once i graduate cause of loans. If i became the leagal gaurdian what kind of help could i get?

Grants are out there for the schools themself. You have to find the schools and see which ones have grants.

None of them are free, unless that child becomes a ward of the state and im not sure you want to do that.

You mother having MS will give the edge on having financial aid to help your brother go to a private school..

Can I ask where is your father in all this.. Is he helping or can he help or is there a family memeber that can help.? Or a family member that your brother can move in with for a while..?

You also might understand that your brother might be acting out the way he is because of your mothers MS. Not that that is a really good excuse but it might help you understand him a little more..

Good home are not that good unless you can find a REALLY good one. Most are just like prisons and you know how those are..
