We want to get married. My fiance is irish and roman catholic. Im german and wasn't babtised at all. But we want to get married in the church in his hometown, where we also live.
Is it possible, if there is only one person catholic, to get married in a catholic church???
Did anybody do that before?

Depends where you are. In England some churches say it is okay whilst some say no. In my village church the vicar, under orders from his bishop will say no. He has performed a christening and marriage all in one go (I understand he only drips a little water on the woman's head so not to ruin the hair do).
All depends so you had better check. Remember some churches are booked up several years in advance.

Not if you get married in a civil ceremony. The Anglican church has the rule about being baptised for a church wedding but each country has different rules. A civil ceremony doesn't have anything to do with religion, although you can have hymns and prayers at it if you want. You would have to research the country where you want to get married to get an exact answer but you would not need to be Christened if you got married in a country that does not have Christianity as its official religion.

It is possible for a non-catholic to marry a Roman Catholic in a Catholic church. In the Catholic church both partners will have to attend a pre-marriage course where you discuss aspects of marriage with lay members of the church. The non-Catholic partner will have to give an undertaking that he/she will not try to prevent the Catholic partner from practising his/her religion and will undertake to bring any children up in the Catholic faith.

Each church has it's own rules. Find out from the priest what their guidelines for marriage is. If they require you to be baptized, you can start the classes right away and fulfill any requirements before the wedding.

I really don't think they care as long as your paying to use the church!

Neither my wife or I are religious in any way but could have been married in a church if we had paid to do so, but it was much cheaper for us to use the local registry office.

Hi! well I think the first thing you need to do is to be right with God, than He will lead the way for you, the bible says that we must repent, believe and be baptised, this would be a life changing experience for you, you would recieve the love that Jesus has for you and more, it is best to locate a Christian based church for this.....Jesus loves you

yes it shouldn't be a problem, you must attend the church first for a few services, and so that the vicar knows who you are. you can't if you have been married before.

yes it is possible, talk to the priest, it will be easier if he actually goes to mass

then again if he doesn't go to mass, why would he want to get married in a church?

You would have to be babtized, you can do it on the same day as your wedding, and all you need is a godmother and godfather when you get babtized, and that's it.
