What happened to the days when they would just shake hands and proudly walk back to the dressing room knowing that they had done their best. Now we even have cricketers jumping about like school girls because they have caught a ball. Look back at the old news clips to see real sportsmen behaving like sportsmen.

Pressure is relative, yesteryears players had the pressure of there day. they also had passion and emotion about the game. but behaved like true sportsmen.

The Welsh Football Team, cry before the Game. Why, because they know they are going to lose.

I don't know if it really is a NEW thing. In the 1966 World Cup the great Eusebio cried when Portugal were knocked out at the semi-finals stage (by England I hasten to add). I think it is disappointment in the extreme that causes them to cry. There is more than just pride at stake nowadays --- there is a lot of money at stake too. Sponsorship contracts that are called off if a team does not stay up there in the limelight because they lost an important match. As for "cricketers jumping about like school girls" just look back at old news-reels of when England knocked the Germans out of the '66 WC and became world champions. England layers were justified in "umping about like school girls"

Nowadays it is not just a trophy, game or championship they are losing. They have so much pressure put on them from sponsors and the media who expect results. Also they are more likely to have their photo taken if in tears and appear in the paper

OK. How would you feel if you put alot of effort into practicing for a game, championship etc. and then you lose? And they dont excatly cry, there are no tears, it is more like making a fuss I guess.
