I am not sure which one is better to use....but is it necessary to use both products? I am a single male and am not THAT good at washing clothes. (sorting out, bleaching what needs to be bleached, HOT/cold issues, softners, that kind of stuff!) Anyhow, is it better to just use one of the two softners or both is how to do it? Any oppinions, ideas, and answers will be great!

i love tide with bleach alternative (OK for colors), liquid downy and cold water for all things, then dry. I find that the liquid downy is better than the dryer sheet version and keeps clothes fresh longer. I don't really wear clothes hard enough to warrant washing them in hot water. But my mom always does my dad's undergarments (t-shirts and tighty whities) in hot with real bleach.
Quick note about softeners though. do not use it on towels. it will decrease the aborbancy of the towels.
Most importantly is to read your labels. This is especially true for drying stuff. If you dry something can't shouldn't be, it could shrink or lose shape. If a label says line dry, do not put in dryer.

If you are using liquid downy, then you don't need the dryer sheets, I personally like the liquid much better.
When you buy your detergent get the one with bleach and that can be used on all types of wash. You can wash in cold water or Hot. If for some reason your white clothes need a real good cleaning, then use hot water, regular detergent, and Clorox bleach. Just keep colored clothes separate from the white and light colored clothes when washing.

Too much softner will leave a oily film on your clothing if you do both of them too often use only dryer sheets or the liquid stuff not both I use about 3 sheets per load but I have an extra capacity washer dryer set so my loads are big.

Use just one, not both. I find the dryer sheets better, you can use them 3-4 x,s ,dont have to worry about putting in liquid in washer etc. Most dryer sheets are less costly than the liquid products. Its best to use cold h2o with washing clothes. Keep all your whites for 1 load, colored for another load. Do all your jeans for 1 load. I never use HOT water for any of my clothes. I dont use bleach, most laundry soaps have built in bleaches for all clothes. Good Luck!

well what i have found best is to use tide cold water.....lv your water on the cold setting all the time so you can remember and wont forget to ever change that keep it simple, the tide cold water works like any other detergent for warm and hot settings but for cold water only... get a downy ball ,,fill it with each load of wash then you wont have to run to the rinse cycle to fill with downy . then always keep a dryer sheet or 2 after you take dryer clothes out put a new dryer sheet in dryer for next load...the dryer sheets are-not- totally neccasary but will keep static cling down if used..

Dryer sheets are only for use if you forget to run to the washer when it*s time to put in the liquid stuff.. Do not use both, too much softener in the towels will cause them to be non absorbent . Year and years of washing/drying has taught me, the more ads you read the more confused you are.
Just stick with the basics. Whites bleach; Colors and blacks no bleach; warm water for all, that way no shrinking/fading.

In the wintertime, with extra static electricity at a high, I use both on every load. Normally I use sheets in the dryer, one per load, half for towels to cut down itching. I use liquid softener for any items that dont go in the dryer.
