I just had my 1st son a few weeks ago, the labor went really well. Once your in the hospitol and things are progressing your body takes over and it's doing so much work that you don't really feel pain. Some stinging but mostly alot of pushing, that is the worst part I was so tired from pushing. I would recomend the lamaze breathing, it gives you something else to focus on instead of the discomfort you feel. I was so scared up till the delivery, but I would deffinetly do it again in a heart beat, your about to have the most wonderful thing happen to you. Congratulations!!

Yes honestly, pick a great doc you are comfortable with, my last they screwed up royally the doc left the hospital 5 min before and noone else could deliver as they were all in planned c-sections for woman wanting to deliver before christmas and my baby wasnt caught by anyone a girl setting up the room was straightening the sheet when he started coming out and froze(what the heck was a 16 year old doing in my birthing room to start with) and the baby hit her instead of continuing off the end, I was pretty traumatized and had to wait for my doctor to come back 45 min later before they could stitch me and stuff, but my daughter was different, you know how in those movies they are happy and content and push once and the baby comes out and mommy smiles and lays back on the bed kinda thing? well that is what happened pretty much no pain meds hurt for a bit while I got to the pushing point the pushing part where she came out was extremely painful but the feel good hormones pretty much obliterated it afterwards. so it really makes a difference what doc you pick, I wasnt trying to scare you just give you something to chew on, goodluck and you will be fine

my two didn't - I had no pain relief whatsoever.
it was a bit uncomfortable and was hard work, but it didn't actually hurt me.
but then again, i have quite a high pain threshold and the doctors and midwives said I was very chilled out and relaxed and that would have helped.
so, I would suggest, you don't worry, if at all possible - you can't do much to avoid whatever will happen, except calm down, and try to be peaceful and calm! hehe, easier said than done, I'm sure.

Ummm there is no eas way to say this but yes, extremely. You can get pain releif though to take away the pain for you. I had 2 natural child births and oh yes they hurt. But remember though the second that baby comes out you dont even remember....... It is worth it. Good luck

Everyone is different. My labor hurt, but you learn to manage for you child. Other have a more easy labor, without so much discomfort. Talk to you doctor about pain management, and look into Lamaze and the medications.

Im not going to lie to you but YES IT HURTS LIKE HELL!!! but ive had 3 children and for some reason as soon as that baby has been put into your arms you forget everything.
Dont stress about it just let things come natually and do ask for gas the husband loves it to it calms them down as well.
Good Luck and enjoy your little bundle of joy!!

yes, it will be the most painful experience of your life, but that's why it is also the most fulfilling. Many doctors believe that is why mother and kid are so close. Yet I bet you will survive, billions of women have done it. Just don't worry, not good for the baby

Bloody oath it hurts!!! But once the baby is out, all the pain goes away. It basically feels like you're pooing the baby out.

Most women, yes. Some women, no. The least painful way is with an epidural and c section.
