I was on ebay and I found a ton of listings for mp3 players that look almost identical to ipods, but theyre not. theyre knock offs. They claim to work just as well if not better than an ipod, but of course theyre not going to say if theyre junk. Has anyone ever bought a generic ipod? if so, how was it?

i did get a generic one, well specificaly a friend got it and paid for it via my ebay account.
it claimed to play videos, record, play mp3/4s, and you could listen to the radio.
the directions were the junkiest thing i have ever tried to read, the copy was so blurry we couldn't make heads or tails. all we could figure out was how to put songs on it. that was very easy.
she ended up wanting a different one, so i loaded the junky one with songs and gave it to my mom to use.

i would say buyer beware when you get a cheapie brand mp3 player.

contact other buyers thru the sellers feedback and ask how they have liked it since getting it and ask how easy or not it is to use...

well i personally have'nt got one but this kid on my bus and my uncle both have different brand knock offs, and they were both terrible.

the menus and stuff were almost identical, but the performance was lacking, they were just incredibly slow.

i just bought an iPod, and if you use one then the other, you can see that you're definetely better off getting the real thing,
