Of programmes such as "Katie and Peter" - ie 'reality' shows about people who don't really do anything other than "be famous" not really doing anything other than "being famous" while cooking, scratching their bottoms, going to the toilet, having babies etc.

We don't know these people. Do we really care what they do in their everyday lives? I don't but so many people seem to enjoy it I think I must be in the minority.

I don't watch any reality TV like that: I think it's all boring. I think we are in the minority though, everyone is obsessed with Big Brother. I don't understand why.

The point is to make the most money out of such programs. The people in the show want to also get famous and get loaded (like Paris Hilton). Well obviously, most of us do not care what they do on a daily basis because we are not going to be affected by what they do. So let's just take the good from such shows- enjoy the entertainment... :)

What Ho Lady,
I totally agree.
I could not possibly care less if Paris Hilton and her ilk fall off a high building.
I do not know all these so called "celebrity" twits.
Along the lines of what you say, of what importance is it to me if David Beckham went to the toilet this morning ?
No, you are not in the minority.
I am going water skiing tomorrow, but does that affect your life ?
Nay, and thrice nay !

Bob the thought....

Well I watched "Big Brother" for the first time last night just in order to answer a question on Yahoo Answers - and my prejudices were confirmed! -

But how people relax is up to them (as long as it goes on behind closed doors which maybe is the point of "reality television - it *doesn't* for the "celebrities" and those watching can feel as if they are getting an insight into other's lives).
Best wishes,
Joan.

It's about advertising revenue. As long as lots of people are silly enough to watch these programmes the advertising boys will back them. if people switch off the advertising characters will soon be aware that they are flogging a dead horse and not back the programme and it will be taken off

I couldn't be bothered after the first one I was so bored after 10 minutes

They are both a pair of nobodies and untalented as well. Why on earth the TV company thinks we are interested is beyond me. It's as irritating as having Paris Hilton shoved in our faces day and night, she's another waste of space.

I'm with you, I could never watch a show like that. In fact I rarely watch anything on TV now.

I don't care about them in general. I don't buy the magazines, follow their numerous marriages and divorces and other things that don't interest me about other people's lives because I mind my own business.
