No. We are socially conditioned and often lack the ability to manage emotions. As there are suicides and have been as far back as we begun recording events in time, we can conclude that the claim in false.

If you are claiming some genetic basis, please name the gene sequences that cause wars.

The answer to your question depends on the age where man existed. If we are to look back at prehistoric days of man, then yes, war was necessary. This is because of the nature of life then. The stronger one survives, getting what they want and the weaker ones have no place to go, just like in the animals' kingdom. That is practically how man survived then. If you or I are to put ourself into their shoes, then we will see the necessity of war.

However, if your question refers to the modern age homo sapiens, then no is the answer for sure. It is quite obvious that war today are inflicted by greed and obsession rather than survival instincts. US controls Iraq for the main purpose of its oil reserve and the Iraqi's are torn apart as well due to power race as to see which race or tribe should lead the country's politics.

The worst part is, it is hard to make these people understand why war is never needed. The reason? They see these factors as part of survivals (not being able to differentiate needs and necessities).

Unfortunately, yes wars are nessecery..... think about this, The people of the world today are trying to save every life that we can, and some places are over populated as it is and the world can only produce material for us. There fore war is neccesary to kill of some of the population. Now if we to just let go and let the inevitable happen and let lives be taken with in natural selection, there would be less conflict in the world because life would be more valuable to us, knowing that we only have what we have and when death come there isn't any way to stop it. Hence the term Live and let Die!

Yes, man is insticntivly programmed to fight for survival, no wars are necessary because wars are casued by the selfishness of man. We fight wars for land, power, competition and 'saftey', but for the saftey of the coutry, we are willing to send out loved ones away to war, sacrificing them for ourselves - selfishness. I think we could do better, right now we are just 'good.'

most of the time, this theory is right!!! so many people fight for small quantity of food, surely need to fight and let the winner have it......but many food and less people, you will see peace and harmony among them....why present days have less war than olden days? because we can use modern technology produce more foods and things we need and want...the only thing people fighting now is make more money to exchange things they wanted...in the end, money become the cause of war in modern days.......

yes man is born to survive that's why we got brains to function and tell us what to do...but war is not necessary and it's a different kind of survival, it's pre ordained.

war is not necessary, but we still can't avoid it, as human can live without sex but few can go without it.
I hate war too, it's the son of human's cupidity,it sets
somebody into happiness but so lots into tragedy.cupidity made that all, if there would be no cupidity someday,no more wars.

Kill or be killed, I don't think wars are neccessary but if we must survive then we must fight. If we don't then what's the use of livving if you simply just give up.
