i am a shy sophmore cheerleader. i'm very content with myself and my personality. but it's hard being around all of these outgoing people all the time and not wanting the same thing.
and not to brag, but i can actually be pretty funny and outgoing when i'm with close friends, but when i'm with other people i totally freeze up. any suggestions on how to be less shy?

It's always difficult for us introverts to deal with being surrounded by extroverts. And boy! you've picked the most extroverted bunch when you picked cheerleaders! Anyway, I wouldn't worry about it.

Once you get to know them a little better, you will become less shy. You shouldn't try too hard to be like them, simply because you're not! If there is something us introverts know how to do, it's being patient. Remember, just because you are different, it doesn't mean you are not a beautiful human being.

Good luck!

You try this being alone and start talking to yourself and start being funny to yourself and later with close family members and later you can extend to your Friends and this way you find that the shyness will convert into totally outgoing person. Remember One think in the life never be afraid of any think what will happen will happen for good and whatever happened is for good. So keep smiling and chill out.

Visualize all your friends and family instead of the crowd at games and rallies. Keep in mind that you want to entertain the people, so it's what they are thinking that matters. You want to shout to make them enjoy the game, cheer to have them cheer the team to victory. Pick out a face that needs cheering up, and focus on him or her until they yell for the team, or smile, or you get some reaction -then you've done your job. Soon you won't even remember your shyness.

never be where you dont want to be, always be yourself and dont worry..most people that are shy just dont feel comfortable with the people around them, until they are with people that they like...then they are not shy at all

stop worrying what others think, and watch the shy walls come tumbling down.
