Seeing as size 12 UK is size 16 US the 28 here probably refers to the waist size - in inches - or it would be a couple of denim tents!

its tough to tell... in the states/canada there are basically two ways which sizes are categorized...by small numbers or larger numbers. for example: size 0,1,3,5,7,9, etc.. (this could be even numbers instead of odd, or even both depending on the store you go to) or with waist/hip sizes...for this type of category you normally see the smallest size as 24, then 26,28, and etc... so:if you say 26 as in the first method, then it seems like that is quite a large size, but in the second way, it is actually quite small! it all depends on that particular store/brand of pants and how they organize their sizes hope this made at least a little sense!

Absolutely huge! Roughly 42 inch waist.Average UK woman is size 14!
On the other hand, if you mean a 28 inch waist, then they are a size 14!

Size 28 is really big - unless you mean size 28 waist then that's really small!

I think you may mean 28 inch waist - that's a size 16.
If you buy men's jeans you need to look at 34 waist because men are an odd shape!
Size 28 would be a 40 inch waist, I think.
