Well the original CSI is still great. excellent writing well acted, very deep well developed characters.
CSI New York is a good show a bit darker and grittier but still solid writing and a great cast.
CSI Miami is awful. They might be able to make a show out of it if they fired David Caruso and their entire writing staff. The stories are week. The Characters are more like caricatures. They have no depth they are not believable as human beings. And what is up with David Caruso always cocking his head sideways and staring people in the crotch?
Then there's NCIS, Criminal Minds, and Bones which are all fairly similar in concept. all pretty good shows that are worth watching. But I turn off CSI Miami when it comes on.

The original CSI Las Vegas was and is the best of the bunch. The only exception to that show is my bias on two of the actors. I NEVER liked Jorja Fox (Sara). Didn't like her when she was on ER. She always looked like a sourpuss. Don't care for "Nick"....those two thought they are the greatest and walked out on the show wanting more money. Thinking the show would grind to a halt, I LOL when the show said, fine, bye bye.....they ran back so fast....anyway the rest of the cast is to die for....I loved Catherine (Marg Hellenberger) ever since she was on the China Beach TV show. Warwick and Craig are just too cute and they both can act circles around Sara and Nick......and finally, what is there not to love about Grissom.....he is the whole show. Without him, it just wouldn't be the same. A lot of fans HATED it when they hooked him up with Sara. I am hoping she don't come back next season.

The CSI Miami spin off really tried to match Las Vegas. They cast David Caruso and I always liked him from his NYPD days. Knowing he has a really big ego, I watched anyway. I sorta liked it but then it got kinda boring and way too predictable. Horatio was getting on my nerves with the "stance", you know, the hands on the hips routine and some of his gestures were becoming really annoying. The blonde Callie, wore thin real fast. That voice, after awhile, was like fingernails on a blackboard. I always like the character they called "Speed", he got killed off awhile back, and I've seen him in a movie and some other prime time stuff. A plus for the Miami show was the location and the outside scenery. Living in the cold north, I always thought it was nice to see, especially in the winter.

CSI New York came along and I thought they are really reaching. Talk about overkill. New York has been done to death with the Law and Order franchises, but I started watching it only because of Gary Sinise. He is an extremely good actor and I figured he was worth the time. He is, but the rest of the show sucks and it's a shame for his sake.

The NCIS show, is a far cry from the CSI's above because of it's military backround. Based on that alone, it gives you a lot of different stories and locations. I liked when they went onto the ships and into the Navy yards. I like the show and all the characters. Mark Harmon has always done a good job in whatever show he was in. Abby, the lab tech, is like nothing I've seen on any TV shows. The show is very diverse, it gives you drama, really serious stuff, and lots and lots of funny, funny scenes.

There may be other shows out there, but these are the only ones I've watched and could comment on. And, by the way, I didn't mind answering your question at all, how else are you gonna find out things.

The original CSI which is in Las Vegas - this is the best one with the best stories and method of deaths.

CSI: Miami - this one is good, but Horatio can be annoying with his sideway stares

CSI: New York - this is my least favorite, but I still watch it

i like the csi's.....my fav is the original in las vegas i started watching this one. my son loves it and watches w/me. i like the csi new york second best. i just like the actors on that one. i think gary sinese is a great actor. i will watch csi miami, but it is not a fav....i do not like horatio. he/his character- something about him is fake and he seems cocky. something about the way he moves his head and runs in w/a gun and no cover after the danger is over! he hemy son doesn't like the other csi's. says they r boring. i have seen a lot of skits and such that make fun of horatio. have u ever seen joel from the soup impressionate him? it is funny.
