They haven't had the stable, grounded upbringing that creates solid, law abiding citizens that contribute to the world around them in a positive way.
They've likely been spoiled and catered to and believe they are above and beyond the law. Not to mention, neglected... these things plus an unlimited supply of money makes for a bad bad combination!

Too much freedom from the word go. I don't think they live in the real world. They have not had to work for anything and therefore are greatly lacking in respect and self discipline. Excuses are always made for them. The list goes on. What is more concerning is what in the heck is 4 days imprisonment going to teach anyone. It makes a mockery of the whole idea of equality and the same rules and penalties for all. They will just play it up again as a hugely traumatic experience. Pathetic really. 4 months may have taught her a lesson worth some value and perhaps made her think twice about her behaviour. That though, can be said for many celebrities.

Yes, she was sentenced for driving her car the wrong way on the road. She was drunk or on drugs at that time.
The problem with these celebs:
1) Wanting more and more attention
2) Not setting a limit to their freedom
3) Thinking, "Oh, I am a famous celebrity! So I can do whatever I want!"
4) Not disciplined and not being able to control their actions
5) Wanting to be the 'It' Girl (even if it's for all the wrong reasons. Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears and Paris Hilton are further evidence)

They're RICH and spoiled kids. They think that just because they're rich and famous that they have "special rights" that the rest of us do not have. The FAIL to understand that our kids look up to them as role models and heroes and when they act like totally selfish jerks, the kids think THAT is acceptable for them too.
The courts are NOT helping this situation out at all by giving them more lenient sentences than what the average citizen would get for the SAME offense. 4 DAYS? Give me a break, if YOU or I did the same thing, WE'D be in jail for 4 MONTHS. What kind of message does THAT send to our kids? Get famous and you don't get treated as harshly as the rest of us, that's what. It's just NOT RIGHT. (((((Rea)))))

She did plead guilty without all the hysteronics and excuses like some of the other celeb girls at least. That's probably why she got a light sentence.
What is wrong is a great question! Spoiled brats, is my guess. They think they can anything they want and buy their way out of it, and don't care who gets hurt. I wonder if they ever heard the word "empathy".

Stupidity?
How many of them finished high school?
How many of them have the discipline to use their talents to make the leap from "celebrity" to genuine actor?
Another answer might be lack of parental supervision and at the other extreme parents who are control freaks!
Maybe they've sold their souls or given them away for an image ?
