Certainly not. She should be thanked and feted, even though she is an Australian.

Everyone should be allowed to have their opinions. Re Ms Greer, haven't you noticed she only gets the press when she attacks someone famous. The last time anyone knew she was still in the land of the living was when she attacked Steve Irwin
You only confirm her existence when you get angry over her. Ignore her and she will go away

Germaine Greer is entitled to give her view, but it should have been shown in the south pole or some where else, where no one cares so much.

No she should not be censored. There is such a thing as free speech and if you don't like what she said then you are at liberty to say or write something to that effect.

CLIVE H: Just to clear up a couple of things - they haven't sent convict ships out here for quite some time. We are still a member of the Commonwealth and we also had Queen Victoria and we have Queen Elizabeth II. And as most Australians are still of British decent (my parents are English) - we had Boadicea and Elizabeth I as well. I am sorry that you felt the need to be so rude.

People seem to regard Diana as some sort of Saint or Demi-God. She was neither - just a person. Albiet a compassionate one who tried to do some good in the world, but I'm sure she had her faults too.

I hardly think that Germaine Greer is alone in her opinion. Of course she shouldn't be censored, we have freedom of the press in a democracy.

Well I read the article, and my only question is did she write it for the publicity? Though I don't think Greer needs to be censured, her ranting and raving leaves me cold. Sorry to hear that she picked on the late Steve Irwin as well. If she was an American I suppose she'd target Anna Nicole Smith and Tammy Faye Bakker too. Flaws and all, most humans do the best they can. I say pick on the living and let the dead rest in peace, Ms.Greer. Many folks love the memories of both Diana and Irwin. You sound like an jealous, embittered old woman. But perhaps that's what you are.

yes she should, the stupid cow is just using the anniversary of Diana's death to get her self in the public eye again, she should shut up and go back to the hole from whence she came. isn't it time that Princess Diana be left alone, everyone has their faults and we'd be nieve to think she was an angel but come on ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!!!
think of the two Princes' of whom this Lady was their mother
I have starred your question

I switched GG off so have no idea what she said but I'm amazed by the majority of the british public who have put Diana up there with the saints. OK Charles had it off with Camilla but Diana had enough 'spare' to field a footballl team, who of the two was right?

Miss Greer is entitled to her opinion. I believe she is only voicing what a lot of others believe. The fact that she has laced the article with other information is quite refreshing.
I personally am perplexed at why Diana has become such an icon. She was at best a very naive creature.
The idea that Diana was one of the common people is completely absurd. If after her divorce she wanted to live a normal life she would not have accepted the advances of men like Dodi Fayed. She had enough money to live exactly how she wanted too.

Germaine Greer just gives me a pain in the backside, as do many newspaper commentators. Why single her out?
