i want to get a dual core processor but which processor in the list would be good for my pc?

Question

my pc is the HP provilion a1130n. here is a website telling you just about every including the sockets for my pc (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=483902&lang=en&docname=c00388382 )

I want to get a good one but im not sure what one would be good to pick. i want to get one that will work with my pc but will also be powerful.

Your PC has the old Socket 939. The dual cores in your link are mainly for socket AM2. Here is the link for socket 939 dual cores.

It appears you have limited choices from Amazon. Better try other on-line retailers.

go to www.newegg.com they have a amd athlon 3800+ 2.0ghz and a amd athlon 4200+ you need socket 939 on amazon you were looking at socket AM2 cpu's yes i know the sockets look the same i thought the same thing but here is a link $80 for a 2.2ghz amd athlon 4200+ http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103053
