Why do people think she's INDIAN??
And what tribe is she supposed to be from?
Curious, because an answer on another question said Cher was half Cherokee.

I've checkd ALL the names from 1890 and can't find ANY on the dawes miller roll. IF it's there I can't find it.

LOL. I think that was because during the 1960's she dressed native american very often and she had really long hair, plus the sort of olive skin tone. I think she took advantage of her exotic looks and kept people wondering what she was. Jewish? Native American? Hispanic? Arabic? Black? You could say for sure. It was a good career move.

The answer is correct. Cher does have heritage of Cherokee. She even had a song about her Native American Heritage called "Halfbreed" that she sang.

ROFLMAO....dang I always knew Cher was no Indian....she is what the first poster posted here.....She made that song "Half Breed" and whites assumed she was Cherokee...and she never addressed it just went along with it for the fame to sell that song....lol....because she has long dark hair and could pass as what whites think....she fit the bill......she has no Indian blood ties......but this is how census was done if you think about it.....if they thought you looked NDN...than that is what they said you were.....this done by uneducated men who were white and couldnt read.......So for all you who think Cher is INDIAN....hate to bust your bubble but she ain't ...lmao good one twocrows

I hear rumors that say she is Native, and I believe she may have some in her, but I believe she overexaggerates it far too much to lead people into thinking she is more Indian than she really is. But that is so her business. There are still people out there like you and me who don't quite believe she is Indian.

She's Cherokee. When she had the bump taken out of her nose she lost her most striking feature, I think! Was her strong point that showed her Native American blood!
