I just had a baby 3 weeks ago. I have examend myself and I think my doc did a really bad job sewing me up. Is there anything I can do legally or medically?

Give it time, it took me almost 2 months before I could sit down without having a big pillow under me.

After having a baby your body will never get back to normal. Especially down *there*! I've had both an episiotomy and a tear from two different births, and the tear looks a lot worse believe me. If your episiotomy cut ended up being the start of a bad tear, that could be why you look such a mess, but once it has time to heal properly it won't be so bad - I've never had a complaint from my husband anyway, I don't think he even notices it, it's just that us women tend to get worked up about things that seem overwhelming to *us* alone.

I was just reading on CNN that episiotomies are one of the five most unnecessary operations that people have, but unless you wait until the head gets stuck or you actually tear you can't be *sure* that you NEED one, and then it's too late anyway.

If you feel like this then you need to go to another doctor and see if something is wrong as your not medically qualified and a doctors statement will help you with a lawyer and any legal needs.

Everythings been stretched as wide as a melon down there! Its going to take a while for things to get back into shape. You will change slightly, and will not look as exactly as you did pre-birth. Dont worry, take some time to recover from the birth...good luck and congratulations on your new baby....

well i dont know what you can do about it. but i know personally that it does happen because they did it to me too. and its been over 3 years since it happened. and nothing has changed. i would look into it. because i know i fell horrible and it just not the same anymore.

goto get examined by another doctor and see what they think.. and go from there.

good luck for someone who shares the same problem

You probably tore also and he did not tell you. Episiotomies are known to cause tears.

sure go see a lawyer, but how is it bad. it has just been 3 weeks. my wife took way longer than that to fully heal. perhaps your jumping the gun.

Your doc probably did the best job they cold possibly do with the damage done. You can have plastic sergery but that leaves you with not being able to have children....
