You must give your present company a one month notice of leaving, in writing, and you must get a received stamp and a signature of acknowledgement / or send by fax and get a fax transmittal slip.
In the one month, try and finish all your obligations and if the company finds a substitute, hand over all your work to him/her. Be good and try to ask for a NOC from your employer. Maybe they will ask you to stay some more time to finish your work and then give you the noc.Or you will be asked to forefit your gratuity, which will be 15 days basic salary per year from when you entered the country on their visa.
Or the company may offer you the same salary which you are planning to jump to.
Pls check your contract, if it says you need to give a longer notice period, or you cannot work for a competitor for 2/3 years, if you are in the sales field. Check the arabic clauses at the end of the contract.
If they do not give you a noc, they will cancel your visa. you can stay 30 days after the cancellation. the labour department will put a 6 months ban on employment. which means you cannot have a employment visa for 6 months. but you will not have emigration ban, which means you can come on a visit visa to stay here only.- legally.
but most probably, your new employer will give you a visit visa or a business visa and you can work for them for 6 months like this; and after the ban period is over, they can give you a normal employment visa.
please note working on a visit visa is not strictly legal, but is a common practice as long as you are working in the same place which provided you with a visa. Also, you have no rights as per labour law while working on a visit visa, and you cannot do anything if the new employer does not pay you properly.
Also, the ban is not valid if your new employer is a free zone company or a government department.
Earlier, the ban could be removed by paying a fee, but since two months it has been stopped.

You cannot able to change your current job until your present employer doesn’t give you the release. The only way is if you are a professional and your proposed employer is ready to provide you a new work visa, then it will workout. You can get cancelled your present residence permit without ban and comeback on the new visa.
