Honestly, originality is a type of intelligence, don't you think? There are different types. I don't need everybody around me to be a genius *in fact, that would probably make me look really bad if they were* The ability to carry on a conversation helps though. So, I guess I do value intelligence. All kinds of it.

In general, I think that originality is a necessary component of most kinds of intelligence.
However, a person can have a huge amount of originality that does not necessaily convert into any general intelligence.
My gut feeling is that I feel "safer" about intelligence than originality.

Hmmm....that's a tough one. I think that true intelligence lies in being original. Originality for originality's sake is not intelligent. But smart people always stand out in the crowd.
