I feel guilty listening to her music even when I'm alone. When I'm around people & listen to my MP3 player, & my family asks what I'm listening to, & I tell them Aaliyah, they tell me something is seriously mentally wrong with me, & that I need help. & then 5 minutes later, they're listening to her music, blasting it out loud & DARE me to ask them why they're listening to it but won't let me listen to it.

What are you talking about, Sweetie? Why would anyone think that there is something mentally wrong with you because you listen to Aaliyah's music? She was a good singer and a good entertainer.

Wow. I guess there is something seriously wrong with me, cause I listen to a lot of artists music who have long been gone..like the Doors and John Lennon. Seriously, you have some flaky friends who seem to like effing with your head. I'd check into making some newer, less judgemental friends rather quickly.

Don't know Aaliyah's music but it's your choice the same as country or rock and roll is my choice so listen and enjoy it - you have the right to decide what you like

What's wrong with that? I listen to Aaliyah, Tupac, and Notorious B.I.G. I have them all on my Zune, and I love to blast their songs in my bedroom.

why would you feel bad? i listen to lots of music by deceased artists...it's honoring their memory and the talents they showcased. you have a right to listen to any artist you wish, living or dead. you're keeping her memory alive by listening to her...i wonder how many people still listen to Kurt Cobain (Nirvana) or Jim Morrison (The Doors) or Selena? Millions I am willing to bet.

Whats wrong with listening to it? Many great artists are dead. That doesnt mean we should respect and celebrate their music.
