i dont care if its a AMB or a Petium i would just like to get a dual core for my pc. right now my pc has a AMD 64bit Athlon processor. it works well but i just need more power for some of the stuff i do on my pc. my pc is the HP provilion a1130m. a friend of mine said that i might not be able to do this because of the sockets on my mother bored but im not sure so please if you could mabye look for my pc on the internet and mabye tell me if this is ture or tell me about a dual core proccessor that will work with my pc. thanks

It really depends on your motherboard whether it supports the S939 X2s (dual cores). Some old motherboards may not be able to support dual cores even if they do fit the socket.

It is a socket 939 motherboard.(will only accept AMD processors) Any socket 939 processor should work including the dual core ones.

You have a good friend. :) Core 2 dual needs kinda new hardware and stuff. And its totally different chip from the one u are using now.
