Stock up. Stuff like that last for ages usually minimum of a year.

well diapers and wipes go fast- especially for newborns, they go A LOT! lol
Baby soap JUST buy Johnsons and Johnsons head to toe wash. Its the MOST gentle and ALL the hospitals use that. I noticed with all the others they can cause cradle cap and rashes from all the perfumes.
Umm a major staple is A&D ointment. Much better than desitin and the others. My daughter is 22 months old and hasn't had diaper rash once. Wipes i love pampers sensitive wipes, they are super gentle and all the others feel like sand paper after using those.
Hope you have fun preparing, but definately try to get some rest in the last couple weeks (even though I KNOW its hard not to nest! lol), cuz after that the rest of your life will be spent worrying over your beautiful child. Good Luck and God Bless!

A package of newborn pampers swaddlers have 46 diapers(or 42) That could last 4 days(usually 12 diapers a day), As the babies get bigger you can buy bigger packages. size one two and 3 change quicklly, because baby is growing. You can stock up , but don't overdo it. Parents choice zinc oxide cream, is just a little over 3 dollars. It lasts a couple of months. Vaseline last forever. You can stock up on these, but check the expiry date if there is one. WIpes do try over time, and they do have an expiry date. Stock up, but not too much. A box of pampers sensitve wipes, contain up to seven packages of wipes. These last about 2 weeks, or even longer. Depends how many poops and if you use them for more than just diaper changes. About 15-17 bucks a box.
We still have soap, shampoo and lotions, that are unopened. We bought them when our daughter was born. She is 13 months old today.

Baby wipes are usually sealed, or wrapped in plastic, but still have the chance of drying out! It should be safe to stock up on diapers and shampoo and such - most things would have a date if they did expire.
I found that stocking up on diapers worked well for me, and then every couple weeks, I would also pick up a gift card for myself to use later on since they dont expire. I ended up with 20 or so $10 gift cards and they really came in handy when I was off work and not making any money! I bought all Target ones and eventually used them all! I can always seem to find some way to spend money at that store! Good luck!

It is fine to buy thing in advance! (other than food).
My son goes through about a pack of wipes + a pack of diapers a week. His shampoo/body wash lasts a lot longer though. We are still on the same big bottle that we got when he was born, and he is already 6 months old!
I would wait on buying diapers & wipes though. Some babies are allergic to certain kinds, and when you have your baby you will more than likely find a favorite diaper & wipe that you want to stick with. You want to stay consistant and not change wipes/diapers after finding one you like, so it doesn't irritate your baby.

Wipes run out fast!! Shampoo's usually last for at least a month or two(but don't expire that quickly), sometimes longer, but that's only because you should only bathe your buddy every two to three days and you don't need to use a lot (less than a dime size dollop worked for my babies hair AND bodies) I know that I got a huge stock pile of moisturizers and shampoos at my baby shower from my first child and I had to throw some out because I was worried about the expiry date. I would only really stockpile on the wipes, because you go through so much of them and they'll more than likely be used well before they expire!!

I did the same thing. It doesn't hurt to buy as much as you can and stock up. Shampoo and stuff last a little longer but buy plenty, PLENTY of diapers and baby wipes, although some people opt to use plain water first instead of baby wipes since their toshes are so sensitive. Don't even bother with baby powder since it isn't recommended since it clogs their little pores. If you are formula feeding, buy alot of formula! The things you really need to stock up on though is diapers and wipes.

Baby wash and shampoo lasts for a pretty long time, as far as diapers and wipes, I just buy them when I get the groceries at Walmart every week or two... Why stock up and have to return them for a different size? Babies are always growing...

You would definately be safe to stock these sorts of items of 6 months!( Baby wipes for sure-you'll go through them so fast!) One thing however to consider is: make sure the products you are using will continue to accomodate baby- You wouldn't want to buy a case of something to find out the baby is sensitive to it -or you don't like it etc.. (+ diaper size will change so much, a case or 2 at a time is best) ** Most products these days are sealed, so they stay usable for quite some time. Hope this helps & Good Luck! :)

I wouldn't do diapers too far in advance because you never know how fast your baby is going to grow and how long the different sizes will last you, kwim?
I'd say a thing of baby wash would last a couple weeks. A regular size box of wipies will last about 5-7 days. A newborn you will be changing about 8-10 times a day.
I don't see why you couldn't buy 6 months in advance, just be careful about the size and quantity of diapers you buy. You don't want to be stuck with a ton of newborn diapers if your baby is going to grow out of them quickly. I've made that mistake before. lol

I made sure to buy lots of diapers of different sizes, wipes, shampoo since i knew i wouldn't be out much for awhile. If you have room to store 6 months worth of supplies then go ahead. If you can find a bulk deal on stuff like at Sams Club or something that works great.
