This has been going on for 40 years. We give billion$ in aid to Israel to by U.S. weapons, then the other Mideast countries buy U.S. military equipment to keep up with Israel. The MIC (military industrial complex) is creating arms races between countries to reap in the profits from arms sales. The ridiculous missile shield that Bush wants to place on the Russian border is yet another attempt to create a new U.S./Russian arms race. The MIC would sell nukes to Al Qaeda to make a buck. Americans need to grow up and recognize that corporations are not patriotic. They don't care about America. They care about profits and nothing more.

Saudi Arabia will never directly attack us, and that's one thing you can be certain of. As one of the last remaining Monarchies (which is barely hanging on as it is), they are terrified of their own shadow at this point. In the past they have had a policy of funding foreign terror organizations just so they would stay out of Saudi Arabia, so they wouldn't be a target. Their military is even smaller than Saddam's was when we rolled over them in three weeks, with significantly worse equipment.

All in all, I think it's just a measure for us to ensure that now that Saddam is gone and Iraq is weakened, that Iran isn't left as the sole military power in the region.

on advanced weapons technology that we sell there are instructions imbedded in the software that will cause the weapon to be disabled by a friend or foe signal emitted by our aircraft. We can disarm it at will. So no, most of it cannot be used against us.
