It will be gone with in a few days depending on how big it is. It won't scab over again. It will scab over only when it is really red or bleeding after picking it off. If you ever get one again. Pick from the out side in. Stop picking if it bleeds or isn't pink or soft under. You can work your way to the middle with in days to let ot heal and disappear faster. If you leave it, it will take ages to fall off especially it its huge. Only pick it if its annoying or on your face or something.

A scab is formed to stop infection and to give the wound underneath a chance to heal. Of course if there is an infection already underneath it then I suppose the scab needs to be removed so as to get rid of the infection first, then let another scab form. Then just leave it alone until it comes off by itself.

used to pick it, but I've really matured these past few years.

However my 2 year old started scratching at the mole on my arm the other day saying 'scab, scab'

I would never pick a scab. I would be afraid of infection.

so bad, some times I unconsiously do it. But if it is somewhere that will leave an ugly scar I try to keep a neosporin band-aid on it. heals much faster and prettier. besides the band-aid makes you leave it alone...

Never. It's your body's way of healing itself. If you are around me and you are picking one, I will slap your hand to make you stop, then I would tell your mother. Then you would be in real trouble!!!!

I try not to, but it comes off as I scrub myself in the shower.
