Super Mario Sunshine help......?

On the east island, there is supposed to be a golden bird flying around somewhere that I have to shoot in order to get a shine sprite. Well, either the stupid thing is invisible or it drowned in the ocean, because I can not see it. Can anyone help me please?

First off, you are on the correct island, right? The one that has a pipe and that did or has a firey thing on it?

To see the bird, the easiest way is to go on top of the palm tree. Then press Y to go into 1-st person view. If you look slighty up and look 360 degrees, you should see it somewhere flying in the air.
