This is... means to write an equals sign...
36 =

3 more than.... means that we're going to add something to another quantity, so write ___ + 3
36 = ___ + 3

twice ... means two times something... Write 2*
36 = 2*___ + 3

the number of hours Darryl worked... this is what we don't know; usually this is written as a variable... this is what is being multiplied times 2...
36 = 2*n + 3
36 = 2n + 3

so answer 36=2x+3

Uhh think about it people
36=2x + 3 wouldn't work. Nothing times 2 would give you 33
(it isn't a decimal type question, so it isn't 16.5)

i'm pretty sure it's the second one because the question states that if u double gregs hours then -3 then u will get darryl' s # of hours
