Your father is in the majority when it comes to Bonds.
He was never a likable person, even as a first-year player.
He never became likable during his career either.
It is a shame too, since he does have more talent than most other players.
The game of baseball allows the best players to stick around for over 20 years, and in that time players grow out of bring brash young men and into mature charming stars.
Barry's journey has been more like a case of arrested development. He never lost his cocky and self-centered nature. Never learned the value of teamwork. Never became a team leader. In his pre-steroid prime, he averaged about 30 home runs per season. At that pace he never would have reached the Home Run record. It is sad that such a character has been able to use chemicals to transform himself into something he never was naturally.

Certain records are so cherished that people do care. In the grand scheme of life it is not going to change the average Joe, but basball fans can appreciate his heroics. And why is he a creep? The rumors are just allegations at this point, and even if he is or was juicing, he is over 40 and still productive in a game of 20 and 30 year olds. Give the man his credit, he is doing something that most people only dream that they could do.

people act more arrogant than bonds does over a record. i care about him breaking the record, because it will be talked about until the next person breaks the record. does your dad say he's a creep because he(bonds) went to an all boys high school?

baseball players aren't heros, no athlete is a hero...Hank Aaron was no hero, why didnt the then current commissioner go to watch Hank break Ruth's record...they are athletes, try walking up to a soldier or war veteran and thanking them for their efforts, especially the ones who've been disabled with war injuries... sports in america is entertainment, nothing more...few people care about Bonds breaking that record...even less should be so serious about any sport as they should be to volunteer some time to help less fortunate people...

I don't think anybody is truly rooting for him to break the record. It's painful watching an old man creep towards a record nobody wants him to have.

Who care's what ur dad thinks. Read and find out for urself so u can have a educated opinion. There is so pretty strong evidence against Barry but with that said, u need to find out for urself and not let others influence u because they thnk negatively about someone.

Obviously you care if you're taking the time to flame Bonds and the record on the web.
