what is a good trip my wife and i can take together?

I think the best trip for a couple to take together is to go on a retreat no kids,family or work for a week the cost is less and every state has them so can save on car rental and airfare or weekend staying a cabin ,bed n breakfast the ideas or endless just think about what she would like......Good Luck

I love to go to Chicago. There are great things to do, good shopping, great for walking, wonderful restaurants and even sailing and a public beach. The planetarium is great but the history museum needs major help. You can go see the Cubs, shop until your credit cards go up in flames or just hit all the little bakeries and coffee shops until you waddle. Lots of great galleries, the Art Institute, the Museum of Modern Art, Ikea, Marshal Fields (disguised as Macy's) and really good theater. Walk down the Mag Mile at sunset and take a cruise out on the lake. Have dinner at the Palmer House or just sit out on Michigan Ave at any of the numerous patios and drink until they throw you out. If you were smart and stayed at a good hotel on Michigan Ave then you just walk home. The Essex Inn on Michigan Ave has one of the very best indoor heated pools I've ever seen, and they have great prices.

You can drive, but you will enjoy yourself more if you aren't paying $25 a night for parking. Take the train in or fly, its pretty cheap no matter where you are coming from. This is a good time to go, it'll get cold soon.
