as you draw you last breath,
where will our thoughts be?
after your mind slips into unconsciousness
where will your soul go to?
when lost in your own head
over & through God knows what,
where is the inner peace?
when you cry out to the heavens,
& there is no answer,
where will the wind blow?
& when your life is good,
where does your pain hide?
when there is only silence,
where do you set your words?
if there is no tomorrow,
& yesterday is years ago
will you still have hope in today?
and as your thoughts race
to find a sufficient answer
to my endless ramblings
who will care?

The father of my best friend is dying now, he is down to his last few days. Its so strange, he was healthy, walking around, having a good time just a few weeks ago and now he is bed ridden, kind of in a daze...all the stuff that was important to him means nothing now. Nothing. All he did, all he accomplished...nothing. Its sad. Its also weird.
