I live in a costal town and every year there are more and more making there way inland.
The estate where I live never had them unti 3-4 years ago and this year it is awful. I have been dive bombed on numerous occasions this week. I blame the tourists for giving the birds unlimited food supplys - dumping their Greggs pasties on the street.
I hate them (the gulls), my town is unbearable in the summer and the local council are not forward thinking enough tro do anything to help tackle the epidemic.

i love animals and dont want them shot or anything.
but i first seen seagulls when i was about 10 years old-at the dump in laramie wyoming! there are thousands there.
then i seen them again in the lake manawa area of council bluffs iowa-a suburb of omaha! them birds are everywhere i guess.
maybe they can have a pecking war with the pigeons.

I don't have gull problem.It is their close cousins the Crows that are driving me insane.
Exactly the same behaviours and they dive bomb and harass my cats as well.
We are sworn enemies the crows and I!
Trouble is here , if you make a complaint a diminutive policeman comes round with a thwacking great rifle and shoots them right in front of your eyes.
Scary as I am never too sure of his aim! But at least they do try to do something.

My wife, father in law and I were having a nice day out, in my recently purchased V8 Ford. We were having lunch at a beach, and I suddenly noticed a hoard of filthy seagulls clamouring at the roof of my car.
The father in law thought it was hilarous to throw chips on top of my car to attract the birds.
And my wife is a traitor. She thought it was funny too.

We have no seagulls so I can't comment. However, we do have kites. If you happen to be a child with a sandwich in her hand out in the open, then watch out! One dive and pffft, gone! no more sandwich!
Sometimes these kites can strike aircraft and damage them.
Pests, but that is nature!

I agree! I lived in Corpus Christi and those damn seagulls were every where! they would come right up to you and eat whatever was in your hand if you were trying to have a picnic and **** on everything. They were cute at first..... then I viewed them as our beach town version of NY's rat problem.
