No, You need about 1gb, 2gb if it's for gaming. Not much with vista except a really nice theme and windows aero, that uses about 20mb of memory. I would say get vista ultimate if your a gamer because in 2008 there will be almost no games for xp. World of Warcraft Halo 2, Flight Sim, and many others are already for vista only.

You have a 512mb stick and a 256mb stick. Replace the 256 with another 512 mb stick for a total on 1gb.
Vista - Mimimum requirements is 1GB. IF you have shared video you should have 2GB of Ram at let the video use as much as you can set in BIOS.
Vista will only recognize 3GB of RAM so don't waste money on 4.

You need at least 1GB to run it properly (preferably 2GB). Ultimate I believe is intended for large networks and businesses it's the Vista equivalent of XP Pro.

Also , Ultimate is for large entiprises , but, why would you want vista and it's buggy un-glory , anyway?

No, at minimum you need 1.5Gb RAM, I would recommend 2Gb+ RAM Your processor may be barely adequate
