Yes, you can, but you will have to learn to turn it off. It will be easier once you're around everyone with out an accent, although most in the US have them. But once you learn to turn it on and off it will be a plus because you can do many more roles with an accent, and actually sound perfect.

Everyone has some type of dialect (even though they may not think they do). When you get into a good acting program, you can learn how to use a standard stage dialect, which is kind of a "blank canvas" for your voice. This will enable you to be castable for a wide variety of roles in the US.
Some actors find a niche for themselves with an unusual voice or accent, but they will end up playing the same type of roles over and over.
People like Nicole Kidman can use their native accent when necessary, drop it, or alter it when necessary.

Sure, accents are sexy. Besides there are a lot of places you can go to learn to reduce or eliminate it. It may even come in handy some day. Don't let that deter you.
