No, they aren't in Colorado. I've lived here for 23 years and I have yet to see one. I believe it is too hot and dry here. i remember being a kid and seeing them in New York and along the east coast. They're so cool!

No, unfortunately. Cities are not great for those types of bugs especially Denver. Western Kansas is loaded with them...Come on out...it's amazing this time of year...it's like sitting where you can see the stars and the fireflies it's almost hard to see the difference. Very peaceful.

I've never seen them right in Denver but I have seen them at Sawhill Ponds east of Boulder. We used to see them all the time in Pueblo when I was a kid but they're not around here much.

Yes, there are fireflies along the front range area. You will find them in natural water areas that are not populated with too many people. I saw a few in the Elizabeth area during the 2014 summer. Their "lights" are not very bright but you can still see them especially on a dark night.

No, there are definetly not. One of my most fond childhood memories is of catching fireflies at my Grandma's house in Nebraska. I thought they were so cool because I had never seen them before. I put them in a jar and tried to take them home to Colorado. It didn't work.

I have never seen one here, of course I do live on the Eastern side, but I don't really think there are any here. I've seen them in Ohio though....... (although that probably doesn't help)

Sadly, I don't think so - I've never seen them. I believe it has something to do with the dry climate.

Very few, they are mainly found in the mid west. I was recently in Wisconsin and they were everywhere!
