History can be reduced to farce, especially when used for political purposes. The same conservative neo cons who dreamed that Carter was anti military are the same ones who dreamed that Ronald Reagan won the cold war all on his own. The truth is that Carter reinvigorated the American military after the let down of the Vietnam war, but was constrained by budget cuts due to the reality of a declining economy; he overtly established the middle east as an American military protectorate helping to expel the Soviet Union from Afghanistan and tried to get Saddam Hussein to invade Iran. He also created the first peace treaty between Israel and their Arab neighbors.

Reagan essentially continued all of this, but spent a little bit more money on the military. In reality there was not much difference between the two so I couldn't tell you who I'd vote for.

Ronald Reagan.
Is there actually a fool out there that would vote for Jimmy Carter again? LOL. He would have to be someone who was not alive at the time and buys revisionist history or one who has lost his wits near completely.

Ronald Reagan
Back when I was young and foolish I DID vote for Jimmy Carter the first time.
I voted for Reagan though and never a Democrat since.

Reagan, no questions asked. Was only 15 in 1980, but I would have voted that way then too. Carter was probably the worst President since Hoover.

Have to go with Reagan. In fact I think I'd even vote for Reagan dead than Carter alive.
