~I never guessed Snape liked Lily. That was a sweet twist. I kinda wondered when she stood up for him against James and he couldnt look at her, but I had no idea he was in LOVE with her!
Which death in book 7 or which death over all? book 7: Hedwig. She Harrys only family and she was so loyal and so sweet and innocent! I cried a little for her. Over all defintatly Dumbledore! He was my favorite character. I cried so hard for him i litterally couldnt see and had to stop reading to regain controll. I know, Im pathetic lol.

I know it's bad to mess the movies with the books, but Alan Rickman made me appreciate Snape's character in a way I don't think I would have otherwise. I wanted more than anything for Snape to be a good guy and I was so much more than satisfied with what JKR did with him. So, the most difficult deaths for me to take were Snape's and Dobby's. I didn't cry at all reading #7, but I came closest with these two, not necessarily because I wished they didn't happen, but because of the poetic justice of Snape's ultimate goodness and Dobby's devotion. Harry digging Dobby's grave by hand and Snape looking beyond his hatred for James Potter to watch over the son of Lily, his life's love, just hit me so hard. Talk about humanity. Oddly, though, I wouldn't have had Snape's or Dobby's respective ends go any other way.

It was somewhat obvious that Snape had a thing for Lily, that's why I figured he didn't like James Potter....It is especially sad that he was a good and brave man who did what was right and just, he killed Dumbledore even though it wasn't the easiest thing to do, I can relate quite well given that it is never easy to sit on the outside and watch while the person you see as your "one and only" is with somebody else, Snape I don't think lived a very happy life of secrecy, lonliness, despair, and lies.....Remus and Tonks death surprised me most, they seemed like the underdog couple that had hard times ahead of it, but neither of them will ever know what it would be like to raise a child, or send their son off on the Hogwarts express and be assured that even though his father is a werewolf, it is okay, because of the sacrifice of a few good men (harry, snape, sirius, albus, weasley's, mad-eye) their child can grow up in a better world in which prejudice, violence and ignorance are avoided....

I wasn't excpeting the whole Snape-Lily thing. It made me feel so bad for Snape, and yes I did cry. I was a strong believer that Snape was good, and that whole chapter explaining Snape's life and actions made me sad and happy at the same time. Saying this, Snape's death saddened me the most because I knew he really was a good guy.

I wasn't sad about it, I was more mad. Snape never got to talk to Harry, nor did it ever explain why he hated Harry throughout the entire series. Yes, he hated the fact that Lily chose James instead of him and he hated seeing so much of James in Harry but also her eyes, but that doesn't explain why he NEVER ONCE was nice to Harry. He also saw Lily in him every time he looked in Harry's eyes, so there would have been moments during the years in which Snape would have taken pity on Harry but he never did. There should have been a conversation between Harry and Snape where Snape tells him all about this before he dies. It was very unsatisfactory to me, and left many unanswered questions regarding Snape.

I ALWAYS, ALWAYS said Snape was good!!!! So, I was not suprised or emotional about it. I do have to say, though, that at 5 am I was wanting to call friends and say "I TOLD YOU!!!
Still, I was a bit sad that at the end, Snape said to Harry "Just Look at me (he had Lily's eyes)" and at the same time he was such an *** to Harry the whole time he was at Hogwarts. He loved Lily but hated James more, in my opinion. Harry looked like Jame's but had Lily's eyes...Snape couldn't get past it...
Saddest death though was Fred....what will George (with his 1 ear..) do without him?

It put Snape in a whole different light. I felt so sorry for him...it made him seem more normal.
The two parts I cried the hardest was when Dobby died and when Harry asked his parents and Sirius "Does it hurt much" and then walked through the forest. I could barely read the words on the page.

yeah i've thought since the sixth book came out that snape was good and that he loved lily, but it was still so crazy reading it. I didn't really cry about that. However, the deaths that hit me the hardest were for sure Lupin and Tonks.... every time i think about them i start to cry again *wipes eyes* damn that hurts.... :( poor Teddy!

Well i had a hunch but usually J.K Rowling has MANY plot twists so i figured it would never happen. Also, i couldn't neccesarily cry because i was in public so i held it back but i would've if i wasn't. Well i think that the death of Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks saddened me the most, they never got to see their child grow up. :-(

yea, that was really sad. i teared up a bit. the death that saddened me the most was hedwig's. its probably because i have more empathy for animals than humans. but the people who i hated to see go were lupin and tonks. they were such great people and they just had a son. i think those deaths were the saddest. :'(
