It really depends on the situation. I've borrowed from friends only when necessary & pay them back ASAP. If it's more than a couple bucks I put everything in writing so there's no misunderstanding later.
Friends have borrowed from me too & sometimes I've lost both the money & the friend because of it. I've actually had one "friend" become angry @ me when I asked her politely if she could pay back some of what she owed me. Some friends have paid me back as soon as they could w/o being reminded. I've learned to only loan out what I can afford to lose (which ain't much) unless I am certain of the friend's integrity.

When i was a teenager i used to borrow money from my friends all the time. I would return it but as i got older it became sort of weird. I don't think it's appropriate to borrow money unless it is an absoloute emergency like if you need bail money or an emergency lung transplant. As an adult, when returning money, I usually always invite whoever i borrowed from and buy them a drink when i give it back to thank them...

I personally dont like doing that because it causes a strain if your not able to pay them back on time or in whole sum as they gave it to you. If you were to borrow money, I would pay it back with a small amount of interest. It shows good faith in borrowing.

No borrowing money is fine..if ur gonna be able 2 pay it back (especially if itz ALOT of $)and if ya know ur not gonna be able 2 pay it back then don't ask 4 the money cuz u'll never pay it back and that could ruin ur friendship with him/her.

it is not a good idea. i have learned that from every friend i have borrowed money from, being a friend, they should pay you back, not have to hound them for it. afterwards, you soon realize, the friendship was not a good one, when your friend stiffs you for a lousy 20 dollars
