Depends on the circumstances. Maybe he's bored silly. Maybe he hates the discipline you love. Horses are a lot like people in that they have preferences, and things they are better at. It's like having a child; you can only have them colour a picture for so long before they get bored and want to do something else. Above all, the horse must be happy. Forcing him to do something will not bring out the best. Work *with* your horse, not *on* your horse. It's a partnership, and your horse needs to feel that. If he's doing all the work, it's not going to make him want to do his job.

RIGHT... Your talking about an animal who if it got its foot caught in barbed wire, would struggle until it was cut off as opposed to simply lifting it out! You want a horse to accomplish more you need the inspiration.

Just speak nice to him and give him little kisses ans say " Hey,(insert horses name here), don't you want more out of life than this?" Then, give him some apples and carrots and more kisses. LOL

Well, first off you tell it you will take it out to celebrate if it accomplishes something. Tell it you will take it to a bar and get it a couple beers. Then tell it if it doesnt you will let a Yetti ride it!!!

You can bring a horse to the water bucket, but you can't make him drink! Just don't kill him. Sorry thatI can't help you more.

Train him and show him. Also use a lot of treats. They LOVE sugar cubes.

when you are training your horse, make him feel good about himself, and anything he does right, no matter how small, praise and cuddle him. this will lift his self confidence, and it will make him want to do things for you and himself
