it depends. if you have been dancing for fifteen years and from instructors have not recieved notes or critisism about it, then it shouldnt be a problem. if anything, they would have just given you tips.
but also, being a ballerina and being short can work to a full potential advantage. you will be doing certain movements where taller ballerina's actually find harder!
anyway, all im saying is i highly doubt it. if you have the dream, the wanting, the talent and the passion, then you will most definetly succeed.
good luck! and when your a famous ballerina in New York, remember me :)

Height shouldn't be a problem. I've heard that different companies have different preferences in term of height. After all, you need to match the rest of the dancers. In general, being short is an advantage for ballet. Spectators can't really tell if all dancers on the stage are short or all of them are tall. But shorter dancers can fit more elements on the same size stage than taller, while not restricting their movements.
Most famous Russian ballerinas of the past were rather short ladies.

I know someone who has been dancing almost her whole life too and wants to be a pro ballerina. She is about 5'1" and she's been told that she is too short to ever be in a leading roll. But don't loose hope. It could also be a different strokes for different folks kinda thing. Best of luck

Especially if you're a girl, no. I almost prefer shorter girls when I'm casting because they are easier to partner. I'm 5'7" and I'm often too tall, and wont get cast. Other then that, I know plenty of proffesional dancers who are on the shorter side (actually, despite the stereotype, most of them are shorter then average, male or female.) I don't think that you have anything to worry about. As an added plus, you body is lighter, which makes things easier on both you and a partner. ;-) )

Really, you have to be good and have style and it'll all fall in place. Sure, you could be. Just believe and look for places where they accept small people. Be out there. GOOD LUCK

You can be whatever you want to be, height has nothing to do with skill, so if that is your dream you go follow it!!
