yes, with the right tools most anything can be done to a bike. but why do you want to change it. it wont make you retarded or anything. millions of people have riden british bikes with right side shifting and they dident die. hell, even harley had it on their sportsters clear up to the 70's.

Yes it is possible but quite a lot of work if you want it to look right. Get on the net and look for classic Triumph specialists and see if you can get the parts required secondhand.

Theres a company in Coventry (uk if you're US) called Trident Engineering who specialise in pre unit twins. My Dad had it done a few years ago and it cost about £370. Also Harris Engineering Specialise in Bonneville and Tiger engines, so they might be worth a look!

Yep, that's what the factory did starting in 1975.
I don't think it would be worth the effort, though.
And some purist would want to crucify you for doing it.

I think you could but you would need crossover shafts and cases off a later T140 bonneville just leave it standard.
