Just wondering why a day sooner than the States...and when we expect this big "cliff hanger" Friday...do they not get that? Do they have "cliff hanger" Thursday?

here in canada we do get it a day early so..you can watch friday's ep at 12:30 and get the cliff hanger but then at 4:30 pm you get to watch mondays - upcoming ep. and it keeps going. so the night one is always the next days ep. sometimes i watch sometimes i don't. but lately i have been cause sometimes i just can't wait. my mom watched friday nights ep (monday) and said don't miss a min.

It would be great to have two airings a day. The reason is my 85 year old mother usually falls asleep and misses half of the show, then I have to tell her what happened. She has been watching since it began some 30-35 years ago.

It is not aired in Canada on CBS in the afternoon, but by Global TV who has bought the rights to air it in whichever time-slot it chooses. Most Global stations use Y&R as a late-afternoon lead-in for their local newscasts, but times vary by market.
Look on the bright side, at least it's only one day behind in the US over 10 months in Oz.

I don't watch the Young and the Restless. but I do know it comes on a day ahead on alot of Canadian channels. The same thing is true about Days of Our Lives and Passions. I don't know why they do it, but we love seeing the next days episodes.

I believe it's because the CRTC have their own rules and regulations, and besides half of the Americans don't even know where Canada is to go and watch it a day earlier anyway.

I think the creators use Canada as a test area to air episodes. If it doesnt sit well with them then it will probably be pulled in the U.S. I dont know if thats true or not but its a guess.
