I am going to weigh into this because I have been to the point of wanting out of this world.
I sufferer from a medical condition which causes pain, and when the pain is so bad I can't sleep, if can't sleep the depression kicks in, and the feelings of worthlessness, useless and a burden on my family and community.
Thankfully professional help was offered after hurting myself badly. I punched the hell out of a brick wall.
I had counselling and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and with encouragement I gained some knew skills and qualifications, giving the jobs I have to day. I know have a better understanding of depression, and how to better deal with it.
Sadly I lost my younger sister and friend to suicide in 2005 both with in days of each other, watching my family and my friends family go through the grief was horrendous and made me realise just what I would/could have put my family through.

People choose suicide because for whatever reason, depression, mental illness, stress etc. they feel they can no longer cope. They feel lost and as though they have no where left to turn. Faced with this level of sadness they tend to only be able to see only the negative and feel that suicide is the only option they are left with.
A person with suicidal tendencies needs help and support so please if you know someone feeling suicidal or you yourself are feeling suicidal seek help.

most people commit suicide because they feel that they are at the absolute lowest point in their life and that it will not get any better, so they end it themselves. most of these people are also very depressed. i had a cousin who commited suicide; she was depressed for a long time and her marriage was not working out, and she took her own life. it is a tragic thing to happen just because we don't realize that our loved ones need help until we are at their funerals.

well there was this girl that went to my school and she commited suicide becasue
1 she was being called names everywhere in school, but she did have a few great friends
2 work load was too much
3 she didn't think she could handle it
to me those aren't good reasons especially since she had real good friends that were trying to help her. To me killing yourself is really selfish considering there are people out there who cared for her and worked hard to give her a good life but didn't see that...... I could tell she was loved by family and friends
she still had so much to live for out of high school

Well, they dont kill themselves because they are happy.
Suicide really is a spur of the moment thing. I've thought of suicide a dozen times. I never woke up in the morning saying, "I'm gonna kill myself." Usually, something would totally come and screw my whole day up, make me depressed, and thats when the "I want to kill myself" thought comes in. Then, comes the "how" to kill myself. I never carried through on any of the thoughts. Usually, I found if I layed down and took a nap, I'd feel better about it and not so depressed. It's a complicated thing to explain to people who dont understand it.

Most people commit suicide beacuse they are depressed, which is a disease. If you don't feel good you stay at home a drink hot chocolat to feel better.
If you feel like you will never be loved or accepted then you may kill yourself.
Suicide is never a good solution, but it is all too common.

most people don't actually commit suicide, they attempt it but don't actually want to die, becuz they are using it as a call for help. the people who DO commit suicide are obviously not feeling good and they feel they have no friends or family to talk to about how they feel.

suicide is a way people let themsleves go and decide that life is so hard that they would rather not be alive any longer. when someone takes their own lives it is very sad and just makes you think how did they get this lonley and down and why was'nt anyone there to help this person? people do this when they are depressed and hurt. it is bad, very very bad so dont think about it. if you are down and need someone to talk to their are people out there.

People make depressive mistakes, many surveys show if you could stop someone from killing themselves, the next day they would feel much better. There are others that really don't want to go on, and they won't get better. It's a tough decision and not one to do on the spur of the moment.

about 99% of people who commit suicide have a treatable case of depression. if they went to a doctor they could of got treated, but they didnt and it lead to them commiting suicide. some suicides are from drugs aswell. yeah it is really bad it doesnt just affect one person, it usually affects a whole community
