Did you reset it and did you try to go into recovery Mode? Hold Power Switch to on and press Reset. You should get a menu. Reload firmware or do a cleanup.

For help you can go to the greatest creative's fansite:

If you're out of warranty and cannot return/exchange the player, you can repair it at a low cost:
http://www.zenrepair.com
(EDIT: The site seems to be down unfortunately)

You may have a depleted battery -

A depleted battery may have any of the following symptoms:
The charging icon is missing
The blue power LED is not blinking
The player turns off immediately when it is disconnected from its power supply
Not showing any signs of activity (with the exception of the blue power LED)
No LCD display
The player is not deteced by Windows or any programs
If the player shows the above symptoms, donwload the firmware below and follow the step by step instructions to install the firmware update.

Is it the Zen V? They have a reset button, hidden under a small hole on the left edge. You can probably unfold a paper clip and poke it in the hole. That's the first thing to try.

If it isn't under warranty, you could sell it as-is on eBay or Craigslist. I doubt there's anyone who'd charge less to fix it than you could buy another one for, unless you have geek friend that will work for pizza and beer.

If its under a year old its under warranty. If not they can still help you but it will cost a fee depending on what needs to be done. Either way you will have to ship it off for a few days.
