In the AL, it is a wide-open race between Beckett, Haren, and Bedard. I think Santana will be hurt by winning Cy Youngs in the past. He is having an off year by his standards. I'll go with Bedard since he is pitching better than anyone in baseball right now.
In the NL, Peavy and Penny will fight to the finish, but if Penny doesn't come back quickly from his injury, the Cy Young is Peavy's to lose.

I'm pretty sure that there is going to be a pretty tight race in the Cy Young this year from the American League. Johan Santana has a well chance of winning but then so does Josh Beckett who would be my pick to win the Cy Young this year.
Over on the National League, there's only two candidates as far as I'm concerned. Jake Peavy who I am favoring in the vote and Cole Hamels in a close back-up.

He's in the running, but it's wide open at this point, I think. You can consider all of these guys as strong canidates. Johan, Beckett, Fausto Carmona, Dan Haren, Erik Bedard..
For the NL, gotta consider Hamels, Peavy, Chris Young, Brad Penny..

Not even close. The Indians have two pitchers having substantially better years than Santana- Sabathia and Carmona. Not to mention Beckett from Boston. Santana, who is listed at 6' tall, but is probably shorter, tends to wear down at the end of the season. He will probably finish 4th in the voting.

No Santana will not win the Cy young again this year. (And I'm from Minnesota.) Sorry, but that prize goes to Josh Beckett, C.C. Sabathia, or Fausto Carmona.

No. I'd go with Dan Haren of the A's right now, considering a 12-3 record and lack of run support he gets from a team hitting .251.
