I am writing a novel and someone in it drives a beat up
Trans Am from the 80s. Is it a stick?

The F-body Trans Am came with either options. Automatic on the console, or 4 on the floor, depending on your motor and model

As I recall, it could be either, I believe the automatic was an option with the Trans Am package. Most "real" car enthusiasts would cringe at the idea, however.

It could be had with a stick but usually they came with automatics as most people prefeered them. 1/3 stick 2/3 auto is the rough spread.

they made them both ways automatics and stick shifts,so it could be either one,you,d have to look at it to see for sure,good luck with it.

Can be. or not. The owner of an automatic would be a big puss who wouldn't be coordinated enough to work a manual. So if you want your character to be a spineless puke make it an automatic.
